Engineering BOM Controller

Greenjets·Milton Keynes·Hybrid·Posted 26 days ago

Greenjets builds propulsion for uncrewed and electric aircraft, from electric ducted fans to geared turbofans, and supplies NATO and the UK MoD. They're hiring an Engineering BOM Controller to keep bills of materials and part data accurate across engineering, production and procurement, based in Milton Keynes on a hybrid basis. This operations role sits within the UK's aerospace and defence sector.

About Us:

Greenjets is an innovative engineering company developing high-performance propulsion systems for the aviation market. Our work spans research and development, engine production, aircraft systems, technical integration and flight testing. We are committed to delivering high-grade engineering and best-in-class propulsion for unmanned aircraft.

We do things differently. We move fast, we experiment and we adopt technologies that push beyond the current state of the art. Our aim is to go further, faster and more efficiently, while keeping costs competitive.

All our propulsion systems are designed, developed and manufactured in the UK. We focus on high quality, reliable and cost effective products supported by a robust, secure and ethical supply chain.

About the Job:

We are looking for a BoM Controller to maintain accurate, complete and up-to-date Bills of Materials across our product portfolio. Working closely with Engineering, Production, Procurement, Quality and Configuration Management, you will ensure that product structures, part data and supporting documentation remain aligned throughout the development lifecycle.

A key part of the role is coordinating the Engineering Change Request and Engineering Change Order process, ensuring every update is controlled, traceable and implemented at the right time. You will also be a key 3DEXPERIENCE user, helping colleagues adopt better ways of creating, managing and distributing product data without relying on Excel exports.

What You'll Do:

Maintain BoM accuracy – create, update and control Bills of Materials across all products, ensuring part numbers, revisions, quantities and product structures are correct.

• Coordinate engineering change – manage the ECR/ECO workflow from initiation through review, approval, release and implementation, maintaining a clear and auditable change record.

• Keep engineering data aligned – work with engineers to ensure CAD models, drawings, specifications, part metadata and BoMs remain synchronised, identifying and resolving inconsistencies.

• Support configuration management – maintain revision histories and configuration states, and ensure product updates are released in a controlled and timely manner.

• Work across the business – liaise with Engineering, Procurement, Production and Quality so that BoM changes, effective dates and downstream impacts are clearly communicated and understood.

• Control supporting documentation – maintain product data, documents and change records within PLM and ERP systems, with appropriate ownership, status and traceability.

• Improve BoM processes – identify opportunities to simplify workflows, reduce errors, strengthen data quality and improve the flow of product information.

• Provide clear reporting – produce BoM status updates, change summaries and configuration reports for engineering leadership and other stakeholders.

• Build 3DEXPERIENCE capability – lead user training and practical improvements in how teams use 3DEXPERIENCE to access, manage and distribute data, supporting the move away from spreadsheet-based exports.

Desirable Qualifications, Experience & Attributes:

Skills and competencies

• Expert-level knowledge of the Dassault Systèmes 3DEXPERIENCE platform.

• Strong understanding of Bills of Materials, part structures, revision control and product configuration principles.

• Ability to interpret CAD models, engineering drawings, specifications and manufacturing documentation.

• Confidence managing complex data sets, change queues and structured records with a high level of accuracy.

• Ability to identify inconsistencies across product data and work with technical teams to resolve them.

• Clear, practical communication with engineers, production teams and cross-functional stakeholders.

• Strong organisational skills and the judgement to balance speed, quality and traceability in a fast-moving environment.

Knowledge and experience

• Experience in a manufacturing, engineering or product development environment.

• Prior involvement in Engineering Change Request, Engineering Change Instruction or Engineering Change Order workflows.

• Experience working with physical products, complex assemblies or production lines is desirable.

• Experience using PLM and/or ERP systems to control product data and supporting documentation.

About Greenjets

Greenjets was founded in 2022 by chief executive Anmol Manohar and chief technology officer Dr Guido Monterzino, and builds propulsion for uncrewed and electric aircraft, with a portfolio running from electric ducted fans to geared turbofan engines. Products include the Sycamore 160 and Aspen 212, designed for higher efficiency, greater speed and a lower acoustic signature than conventional designs, and the team draws on Rolls-Royce, General Electric, BAE Systems and Formula 1 experience. The company sells to NATO, the UK MoD and the German MoD, and was selected under the MoD's Low-Cost Air Defence Effectors programme to build a British low-cost drone interceptor. It grew from 160 to more than 250 staff and expanded UK facilities from 12,000 to nearly 70,000 square feet. The $40M Series A was led by Blossom Capital, with the NATO Innovation Fund, the National Security Strategic Investment Fund, Tanglin Ventures and NSFO Family Office.
