Helsing is a defence AI company that builds autonomous systems and AI-driven software to support mission-critical operations and the protection of democratic societies.
The role, AI Research Engineer, involves developing and evaluating advanced machine-learning and AI systems for real-world defence use-cases. You will design, implement, and benchmark novel AI/ML methods — from model development to production-grade deployment — applying them to tasks like sensor fusion, autonomous perception, decision support, or real-time data processing under operational constraints.
Your work will contribute directly to Helsing’s AI-powered platforms used across land, air, sea, or multi-domain autonomous systems, helping deliver robust, scalable, and high-impact capabilities for defence and security environments.
This role is suited to engineers with a strong background in AI/ML, software engineering, and a readiness to work on challenging, high-stakes technology. Ideal for candidates comfortable combining research, engineering, and systems integration in a fast-paced, mission-driven context.
