They're hiring a Mechanical Technician on contract to assemble, integrate and test its maritime platforms, based in Fareham. This hardware engineering role sits within the UK's maritime defence technology sector.
As a Mechanical Technician, you'll join a highly skilled production team responsible for assembling, integrating, maintaining, and testing advanced maritime platforms and systems.
Working in a fast-paced engineering environment, you'll play a key role in bringing innovative products from concept to reality, supporting the build and delivery of some of the UK's most advanced autonomous vessels.
Perform mechanical assembly, installation, maintenance, and modification activities Support vessel build, integration, commissioning, and testing programmes Diagnose and resolve mechanical faults and technical issues Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance activities Work from technical drawings, schematics, and engineering documentation Collaborate with electrical, engineering, operations, and quality teams to achieve programme milestones Maintain accurate records and build documentation Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards Support continuous improvement initiatives across production and engineering activities
Recognised qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Boat Building, or a related discipline Strong hands-on mechanical assembly, maintenance, or installation experience Understanding of mechanical systems, tools, and engineering standards Experience working within marine engineering environments Strong problem-solving and fault-finding capability Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation High attention to detail and commitment to quality
Boat building or marine vessel construction experience Composite structures and assemblies experience Mechanical integration and commissioning experience Prototype or low-volume production experience Experience operating within regulated engineering environments
