Kraken Technology designs and builds uncrewed surface vessels for defence and commercial maritime operations, including a Royal Navy order for 20 vessels. They're hiring a Production Controller to run ERP-driven scheduling and materials management across its production operations, based in Fareham. This operations role sits within the UK's maritime defence technology sector.

Kraken Technology Group is looking for a highly organised and proactive Production Controller to join our Operations team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced production planning professional to play a key role in managing ERP-driven production control activities, ensuring efficient scheduling, materials management, and operational performance across the business.

You will work closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and Sales teams to support the successful delivery of advanced maritime technologies while contributing to the continuous improvement of our manufacturing processes.

Manage and maintain production works orders through our ERP/MRP system. Review and update Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings, and project assignments. Raise and manage rework orders where required. Monitor and action MRP recommendations, including placing, rescheduling, and cancelling works orders. Run production loading and resource planning activities. Complete and close production works orders accurately. Manage production shortages and support resolution activities. Investigate and correct transactional discrepancies within the ERP system. Support daily production meetings and action agreed outcomes. Collaborate with stakeholders across Operations and support functions. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production planning processes and operational efficiency.

Level 3 qualification (A-Level, BTEC, NVQ or equivalent) in a relevant technical or business discipline. Experience in production control, manufacturing planning, or scheduling. Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and production planning processes. Experience managing work orders, BOMs, routings, and production schedules. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Advanced IT skills, including Microsoft Excel. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Understanding of materials control and manufacturing operations. Commitment to continuous improvement and process optimisation.

HNC, HND or Degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain Management. ERP/MRP system training or certification. Experience within a marine, defence, or advanced manufacturing environment. Knowledge of 123Insight or similar manufacturing ERP systems. Understanding of Lean Manufacturing methodologies, including 5S and Kaizen. Experience analysing performance data and operational KPIs.

You'll be part of a collaborative, fast-moving team, working across functions to ensure production plans are translated into operational delivery. You'll use data, systems, and strong stakeholder relationships to maintain production flow, solve problems quickly, and support business performance.
